Tommy Fitzsimons became interested in data protection law during a high school project. He followed the Bachelor of Laws at the University of Utrecht, with a minor in Technology, Law and Ethics at VU Amsterdam. He also participated in the Erasmus Exchange programme at UCD in Dublin. He started the Master’s programme in Information Law at the UvA/IViR in September 2019, and is currently writing his thesis on the proportionality of facial recognition use by law enforcement. Tommy also works as the DPO of an e-health startup. His main interests are privacy and data protection law, telecommunications law, and competition law.
